GordonHamreAfter more than 25 years’ work throughout the territorial north, Gordon retired from Parks Canada in 2012.  Over that period, he participated in main table negotiations for the Sahtu Comprehensive Agreement, and many others.  

Gordon led negotiations on behalf of Canada to establish Nááts’ihch’oh (2012), and Tuktut Nogait (both Inuvialuit Settlement Region (1996) and Sahtu Settlement Area (2005) components).  Gordon also led the federal team that was responsible for the commemoration of Saoyú-ʔehdacho National Historic Site in co-operation with the Délįne Renewable Resources Council and the Délįne Land Corporation.

Gordon also sits on the boards of the NWT Community Services Corporation (owner and operator of Northern United Place in Yellowknife), and of the NWT chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.  He lives in Yellowknife and is a principal of Avens Associates Ltd., the only NWT-based landscape architecture firm.
