Peatlands of Canada

The contents of Geological Survey of Canada Open File 6561 replaces two earlier versions of the Peatlands of Canada database and map. The distribution map was first released in 2005 as Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3834 and the digital database as Geological Survey of Canada Open File 4002. The database and distribution map were updated in some areas and released in 2005 as a file available upon request from Agriculture and released in 2005 as a file available upon request from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The 2005 release also contained maps showing soil organic carbon mass and soil organic carbon content in soil organic carbon mass and soil organic carbon content in Canadian peatlands.
